Chuck Lay:

Chuck was raised in Aliquippa, a small steel mill town in western Pennsylvania. Working summers in the mill taught him grit, perseverance, and the value of hard work. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon, Chuck moved to Chicago to pursue his MBA from the University of Chicago and eventually begin his career in corporate America. As an instructor at DeVry University, he helped launch the Advantage Academy, giving students a chance to earn an associate degree while finishing high school.

Now raising his family in the district, Chuck knows firsthand the struggles of working families and he’s stepping up to make Illinois a place where families can stay and thrive.
